Following an in-depth investigation, detectives identified Robert Edward Mooring, 41, as a suspect in the case. Evidence collected by investigators ultimately led to charges being filed.
Mooring, described as a White male, has been charged with:
- One count of Larceny
He was arrested and booked into the Wayne County Detention Center, where he is being held under a $2,000 secured bond.
Officials have not disclosed whether the stolen signage has been recovered, but the investigation remains ongoing. The Wayne County Sheriff’s Office is asking anyone with information related to this case to come forward.
Authorities also urge property owners in rural areas to take precautions to protect valuable items, particularly those with historical or collectible significance.
