Goldsboro, N.C. — National Small Business Week is in full swing in Goldsboro, where local merchants kicked off the celebration earlier this week with the annual Merchant Breakfast held at the Terrace Room in downtown Goldsboro.
The event, which brought together business owners, community leaders, and supporters of local commerce, showcased the collaboration and spirit that define the city’s small business community. Guests enjoyed a locally sourced breakfast provided by B&G Grill, coffee from Gypsybean Coffee Shop, and vibrant floral arrangements courtesy of Green Thumb Florist—all beloved small businesses in the area.
The breakfast marked the start of a week dedicated to highlighting the importance of small businesses and the role they play in shaping the cultural and economic fabric of Goldsboro.
“Small businesses bring out the community,” said one local business owner in attendance. “They’re where we gather, where we connect, and where the heart of our city truly lives.”
While the official week may be nearing its end, organizers and business owners alike say the celebration shouldn’t stop. They’re encouraging residents to continue supporting small businesses year-round—by shopping locally, recommending favorite shops and services, and participating in community events.
National Small Business Week, recognized nationwide during the first week of May, is a time to celebrate the contributions of small business owners and entrepreneurs. In Goldsboro, it serves as a powerful reminder of the partnerships and passion that keep downtown thriving.
