Paul Miles Williams, 87, opened his eyes to the glory of heaven on March 24, 2025. He will be remembered by his family for his gentle spirit, quiet wisdom, and love for each of us.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife, Reba King Williams; brothers, Jack Williams, Rupert Williams, and Robert (Bob) Williams; and a sister, Helen Lester.
Born in Boone County, West Virginia, he was the son of the late Ollie and Ora Casto Williams. He served as the Superintendent of Postal Operations for the US Postal Service for 33 years. He was also a dedicated and faithful member of Freedom Baptist Church for 46 years.
Paul is survived by his daughters, Kellie Langston (Daryl) of Raeford and Wendy Barrett of Anchorage, Alaska; grandchildren, Kari Walling (Brad), Kimberly Nydam (Cory), Kacey Cortes (Irvin), Bethany Barrett, Daniel Langston (Rebekah), Candace Langston, and David Langston (Hallie); great-grandchildren, Dante, Jubilee, Madeline, Olivia, and Ridge; and a sister, Yvonne Purnell; and a host of nieces, nephews, and close friends.
A service to celebrate Paul’s life will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, March 31, 2025 at Freedom Baptist Church with Pastor Jonathan Smith and Pastor David Langston officiating. Internment will follow at Wayne Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 4:00 – 6:00 p.m. on Sunday, March 30, 2025 at Freedom Baptist Church.
