Barbara W. Taylor, a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, departed from this world on March 31, 2025, at the age of 75. Barbara was born on May 20, 1949, in Elkhart County, Indiana, to the late Hubert Wise and Sue NeSmith Wise, who instilled in her the values of kindness, humor, and the importance of family.
Barbara was preceded in death by her sister, Patty Dove, whose memory she carried in her heart.
Barbara was the loving wife of David Taylor for an incredible 56 years. Together, they built a life filled with love, laughter, and adventure. Her memory will forever linger in his heart and in the hearts of their cherished daughter Suzanne Carr and her husband Kenneth, her treasured grandchildren, Rachel Carr, and Brian Carr with his wife Bella; her loving sister, Pam Bohannon, and her husband Dale, along with nieces and nephews who loved and admired her. Barbara’s family brought her immense joy, and she made it her life’s mission to nurture them with love and support.
Barbara was a vibrant and spirited person, known for her infectious sense of humor and her passion for life. She had a deep love for travel and spent countless hours exploring new places and creating memories with her family. Sightseeing was one of her favorite pastimes, as she found beauty in every corner of the world. Her zest for life remained unwavering, even during her short illness.
A passionate advocate for recovery, Barbara was deeply committed to Al-Anon, where she dedicated her time helping friends and family of alcoholics navigate the challenges related to loving someone with an addiction. Her compassion for those in need and her willingness to lend an ear defined her character and added to the tapestry of her life.
Barbara’s vibrant spirit and loving nature will be profoundly missed by all who knew her. She touched the lives of many, leaving behind a legacy of love, laughter, and resilience. Her family takes comfort in knowing she is reunited with her parents and sister Patty and that her spirit will live on in the hearts of those she loved.
A celebration of Barbara’s life will be held at a later date where friends and family will gather to share memories and honor her incredible journey. Barbara W. Taylor’s legacy will forever be cherished, and her influence will continue to inspire those who carry her memory forward.
