The Goldsboro Fire Department is hosting its third annual Hook and Ladder Camp from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. from July 28 to Aug. 1.

The camp is open to children ages 8 to 13.

Hook and Ladder Camp will immerse children in a fun, safe, and interactive week of Junior Firefighting.

Campers will get to see and experience many of the amazing things firefighters do on the job, such as rescue operations, first-aid, firefighting techniques, witnessing a live burn, and much more.

There will also be field trips to the Wayne County 9-1-1 Call Center, EMS station, and more.

All campers must be willing to be outside in the heat, participate in swimming activities, get wet and have a positive attitude.

Registration is free and is open until Mar. 15.
