Marion Rich, 88, passed away on Friday, January 17, 2025 at Kitty Askins Hospice Center. Marion was born in Dillon, South Carolina to the late Douglas and Dannie Rich on March 23, 1936. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Marjorie Thompson Rich and daughter, Kitty Diane Whitehead.
Marion proudly served his country in the United States Air Force and retired from DuPont in Kinston.
The family will receive friends on Sunday, January 26, 2025 from 4:00 – 5:30 p.m. at Seymour Funeral Home. A graveside service will be held on Monday, January 27, 2025 at 11:00 a.m. in Wayne Memorial Park.
Marion is survived by his daughter, Dawn Michelle Rich Manning and husband, Scott of Winterville; son, Nicky Dwight Taylor and wife, Cheryl of Hookerton grandchildren, Peyton Cross Manning (Michael), Chris Manning (Eden), Stephen McDonald (Miranda), Stephanie T. Brogden (Edward), Melissa Thifault, six great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren.
The family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to the staff of Kitty Askins Hospice Center for their exceptional care provided to Marion during his final days.
