Lillian Howell Rose, 86, passed away peacefully on Sunday, January 26, 2025 at Goldsboro Rehab in Goldsboro. Lillian was born in Wayne County to the late Norman and Sudie Howell on July 8, 1938. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sisters, Margaret Prillwitz, Norma Lee Smith, Grace Helen Carter, Susan Barwick, Polly Shepherd, Joyce Baxley and Irene Hill; and brother, George Howell.
Lillian maintained a long and successful career with Belk in Goldsboro. She retired after 40 years of dedicated service.
Happiest when family was gathered around, Lillian worked diligently through the years to celebrate holidays and birthdays with the whole family. These opportunities were blessings to them all as they were able to spend time with their most precious gift of all—family.
Dedicated to service to the Lord, Lillian was a member of Saulston Community Church. Faithful in worship, you would find Lillian seated with her church family, offering praises and thanksgiving.
The family will receive friends from 1:00 – 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, January 30, 2025 at Seymour Funeral Home. A service celebrating Lillian’s life will follow at 2:00 p.m. in the chapel with Pastor Jeff Severt officiating.
Lillian is survived by her daughter, Deborah Rose of Goldsboro; son, Roger Rose and wife, Dava of La Grange; and four grandchildren, Jacob Sandlin, David Rose, Tyler Rose and Rachael Rose.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given in Lillian’s memory to Saulston Community Church, 4620 Wayne Memorial Drive, Goldsboro, NC 27534.
