Billy Royster, 64, passed away peacefully at his home on Sunday, January 26, 2025. Born in Cook County, Illinois, he was the son of the late William Paschal Royster and Marie Camille Napolitano Royster.
Billy is survived by his loving wife, Susan Jean Sutton Royster; children, Crystal Leigha and husband, Tommy Bolin, and Crystal Royster; grandchildren, Jazmyn Bolin, Christian Bolin, and Theresa Whitmore; special friend, Sarah Royster, and Greg and Amy Stroud; fur babies, Molly, Jax, Daisy, and Lily Royster; step-children, Brad Woodel and wife, Michelle, and Brooke Moody; and step-grandchildren, Connor Woodel and Aubrey Woodel.
Billy’s love for the military began at a young age, and he proudly served in the United States Army, dedicating his life to protecting and serving his country. His devotion to his fellow soldiers and his unwavering sense of duty made him a respected and admired figure in his community. Billy was a proud American through and through, always ready to lend a helping hand and embodying the values of loyalty, honor, and integrity.
Outside of his military service, Billy had a deep passion for woodworking. Whether it was crafting beautiful pieces of furniture or working on projects around the house, his hands were always busy creating something special. His craftsmanship and attention to detail were admired by all who saw his work.
Billy also had a love for the open road. Driving his truck was one of his greatest joys, and he spent countless hours behind the wheel, enjoying the freedom and peace it brought him. He always found a sense of tranquility in the hum of the engine and the wide-open spaces.
A loving and devoted companion to his dogs, Billy had a special bond with his fur babies. His dogs were more than just pets; they were family, and he treasured their companionship. They brought him comfort, joy, and unconditional love every day.
Per his request, no formal services will be held.
In lieu of flowers, the family request memorials be sent to the Wounded Warrior Project (WWP) PO Box 758516, Topeka, KS 66675 in memory of Billy.
