July 12, 2024, 77, Teachey —

Rebecca Williams Godbold, 77, of Teachey passed away Friday at ECU Health in Kenansville. She was the daughter of the late Timothy Graham and Mary Aleene Register Williams. Her parents were blessed with two special children, Rebecca and Tim. 

She married Harold G. Buckner and together they had two children, David, and Mark Bukner. David married Faith Bostic and they had a son, Brandon. He married Jennifer Shaw and together they had Hannah Bell. Sadly, Brandon passed away in January of 2020. After Harold passed away, she married the late James Corbett Godbold. From this union she inherited a very special family, Andy and his wife, Amanda, and twins, Brookland and Brianna. Andy also had Joyce and Theresa. As well as half-sister, Debbie, and half-brother, Jimmy Godbold.

Rebecca worked 36 years as a cosmetologist before retiring. She had salons in Wallace, Rose Hill, and Warsaw. Her clients left her with many special memories. 

She spent the majority of her life in Duplin County, many of those years on the Wallace Rescue Squad as an Emergency Medical Technician and as an EMT teacher at James Sprunt Community College.

After husbands, Harold Buckner and James Godbold died, she took an RV trip to Las Vegas accompanied by their four-legged companion, Janna. They learned to love Las Vegas at Thanksgiving and Christmas. Going to Camp Clearwater was also one of their favorites.

No formal services will be held.

This is not a sad occasion. I will see you at the gates of heaven.
