Larry James Harris, 79, unexpectedly passed away on Tuesday, January 16, 2024, at his home. He was born in Cassville, West Virginia to the late William and Pauline Harris on September 12, 1944. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by the love of his life, his wife of 57 years, Tommie Harris.
Larry was a member of Pikeville PFWB Church, where he and Tommie enjoyed many friendships. He had worked for many years as a dispatcher in the trucking industry. Larry also served in the North Carolina National Guard.
A service to celebrate Larry’s life will be at 4:00 p.m. on Sunday, January 21, 2024, at Pikeville PFWB Church with Pastor Mark Whitfield officiating. A private family inurnment will be at a later date in Wayne Memorial Park. The family has chosen to have no formal visitation following the service but friends are welcome to share condolences with the family at www.seymourfuneralhome.com.

Larry is survived by his son, Tom Harris; grandson, Brady Harris-Cook; brother, Bill Harris; sister, Zuma Truitt; and special friends, Wilburn and Jeannie Rutledge.
