Edna Faye Long Lapean, 78, passed away on Thursday, November 16, 2023, at Somerset Court of Goldsboro. Born in Wayne County on December 30, 1944, she was the daughter of the late Major and Mabel Sasser Long.

In addition to her parents, Edna was preceded in death by her husband, Theryl Alan Lapean; son, Jeff Lapean; and brother, Ed Long.

Edna is survived by her daughter, Lori L. Kearney, and husband, Eddie; grandchildren, Zack Kearney, Alan Lapean, and Kelsey Stewart and husband, Brian; great-grandchild, Catherine Kearney, and another on the way; and sister, Elizabeth Smith.

Edna’s grandchildren were the light of her life. She cherished every moment she was able to spend with them.

Edna loved working in her yard, tending to her beautiful flowers.

A graveside service to celebrate Edna’s life will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Sunday, November 19, 2023, at the Grady Family Cemetery with Pastor Chris Stewart officiating. The family will receive friends following the service at the cemetery.
