Janice L. Worley Walston, 78, passed away at Smithfield Manor on Thursday, July 6, 2023. Born in Johnston County, she was the daughter of the late Frank Worley and Leona Medlin Worley.

Family was paramount to Janice. Her love for her children and grandchildren was unmatched. She was a kind, old-fashioned mema. Often times Janice could be seen with her grandkids in the car, riding around with her. Whenever a helping hand was needed, Janice was right there to lend support, whether with family or with friends. Janice will also be remembered as a great cook. Nothing pleased her more than making meals for friends and family each Sunday and holiday. Janice loved watching the snowfall in the winter. She would often call her family to go watch the snowfall and to come to the house for some snow cream. One of Janice’s favorite things to do was watch soap operas, with her favorite one being The Young and the Restless.

A time of visitation and celebration for Janice will be held on Tuesday, July 11, 2023, from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m. in the chapel of Kenly Funeral Service.

Janice is survived by her children, Randy Walston and wife, Angela, and Candie Willoughby, and husband, Jerome; grandchildren, Angel, Hunter, Cody, and Logan; and sister, Barbara Hall.

In addition to her parents, Janice is preceded in death by her infant son, Frankie Walston; brothers, Junior Worley and Vernon Worley; and longtime companion, Alton Worley.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials be sent to St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105 in memory of Janice.
