Audrey Brady, 91, passed away Saturday, April 15th at Brookdale Reynolda Assisted Living in Winston-Salem. The funeral service will be conducted at 2:00 PM on Wednesday, April 19th at Grace Baptist Church in Princeton. Visitation will be observed one hour prior to the service at the church.

Audrey was born in Bailey, NC on April 10, 1932, the youngest of 7 children to Stephen and Nettie Boykin. She graduated from Goldsboro High School and enjoyed playing clarinet in the marching band. She met her future husband serving ice cream at the Byrd’s Drug Store’s soda fountain. After graduation, Audrey worked for 54 years selling fine jewelry and as a bridal consultant at Giddens Jewelry Store and at Talton’s Jewelry Store, retiring at age 72.

Audrey married William Alton (Al) Brady on November 17, 1954. They were married 55 years prior to his death in 2009. Audrey and Al shared a strong faith and were charter members of Grace Baptist Church in Princeton for 42 years. As their health declined, they moved to Winston-Salem to be closer to their children and grandchildren. Audrey lived a consistent life of faith and love, building special friendships wherever she lived. She leaves an amazing legacy to her family, survived by her daughters and sons-in-laws Sandy and Rennie Adcock of Pfafftown and KB and Greg Ottaway of Greensboro; Grandsons Brady (Taylor), Caleb (Holly), Alek (Elizabeth), and Shepard (Jennifer), and three great-grandchildren Raymie, Oaks, and Davis.
