On 03/30/2023 members of the Wayne County Sheriff’s Office DWI Task Force were conducting a saturation patrol in the area of Hwy 70 W at Grady Rd. Sgt. Holland observed two motorcycles driving recklessly through traffic at speeds near 100 mph and attempted to conduct a traffic stop.

The motorcycle being operated by Mr. Chambers attempted to elude law enforcement by driving recklessly at speeds greater than 130 mph for several miles before surrendering without incident.

Mr. Chambers was taken into custody and placed in the Wayne County Jail under a
$15,000 secured bond.

The motorcycle was seized under North Carolina’s “Run and Done” law.
