Anthony Wayne Grady, known as Tony Grady, passed away Friday evening, March 31, 2023, at his home.  Tony was a well-known service station and wrecker service operator in Mount Olive.  He was 71 years old.

Soon after high school, Tony began his working career with E. J. Pope & Son, Inc. as a truck driver.  He then became the operator and manager of Pope’s 66 Service Station until 1999, when he opened Tony’s Service Center.  Known far and wide for his wrecker and engine repair skills, Tony was a friend to many.  He was a member of Selah Christian Church in the Grantham community.

Tony is survived by his wife, Cathy Jernigan Grady, of the home; a son, Anthony R. Grady and wife, Samantha, of Mount Olive; a daughter, Jenny Leigh Grady of Raleigh; a step-daughter, Angela Jernigan Rogers of Clayton; four grandchildren, Pierson Grady, Allie Dunekack, Tyler Dunekack, and Tanner Bain; two brothers, Joseph Grady, Jr. and wife, Anita, of Waxhaw, and Scott Grady and wife, Jamie, of Mount Olive; and two sisters, Jo Carol Grady Dowless of Charlotte, and Sara Grady Zeppelin and husband, Tim, of Goldsboro.

He was preceded in death by his father, Joseph Grady; his mother, Nan Scott Grady Sutton; and a brother, Charles Grady.

Tony’s life of great service to his community and surrounding areas will be remembered Tuesday, April 4, at 2 p.m. at Mount Olive First Pentecostal Holiness Church, and will be officiated by the Rev. Patrick Muston and the Rev. Jeff Dail.   A time of visitation with the family will follow the service.  Burial will be at Wayne Memorial Park following a graveside committal service to be on Wednesday, April 5, at 10 a.m.
