Friends of the Wayne County Public Library Wants Your Books

The Friends of the Wayne County Library will be collecting books for the next few weeks at the library for its annual Book Sale.

Donna Phillips the Director of the Wayne County Public Library says the book sale usually is held in the spring, since parents often buy books for children who are on spring break. “It helps us to provide innovative library services which would ordinarily be outside our typical budget.”

If your books just happen to be in great shape, the library might put it on their shelves but typically the Friends of the Library want books to sell. Children’s books seem to sell well, according to Phillips, but all kinds of books are welcome.

“We have lots of community members who are so generous and kind spirited and they will come in and buy boxes of books to donate to community organizations like the Boys and Girl’s Club,” Phillips added.

The Friends of the Library have a member’s only sale Wednesday, April 12 from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. but public sales begin Thursday, April 13 from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. and continues Friday and Saturday (4/14 and 4/15) from 10 a.m. to 5 p. m.

The last day of the sale in Sunday, April 16, from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m.
