Threats Cause Lockdown at Goldsboro High

On Wednesday, January 18, 2023, at approximately 12:46 p.m., staff at Goldsboro High School received a phone call from an unknown source threatening Goldsboro High School. The school was placed in a precautionary soft lockdown by Wayne County Public Schools.

The Goldsboro High school resource officer on duty notified the patrol supervisor to request assistance. Officers from the Goldsboro Police Department Operations Division and Investigative Services Division responded and secured the school and remained on campus for the remainder of the day.

This investigation is continuing. No injuries were reported
