Stolen Firearm Recovered During Traffic Stop

On Jan. 3, 2023, at approximately 1:21 p.m., Goldsboro Police Department’s Housing Unit was conducting saturated patrols of the northern portion of the city. A traffic stop was conducted in the 900 block of North Madison Avenue in reference to the driver being identified as having outstanding orders for arrest.

During a probable cause search of the motor vehicle, a concealed firearm and a small amount of suspected marijuana was located. The firearm had previously been reported stolen from Wayne County.

The driver of the vehicle, Ryquan Lovett Humphrey, was arrested and transported to the Wayne County Jail. Mr. Humphrey was charged with Possession of a Firearm by a Convicted Felon (F) and Possession of a Stolen Firearm (F). Mr. Humphrey was also served several outstanding warrants for his arrest from Duplin County, North Carolina.

Mr. Humphrey was held at the Wayne County Jail on an $18,000 secured bond
