Update

After further investigation and with the assistance of the Wayne County Department of Adult Corrections Office, on October 28, 2022, the victim was identified as 55-year-old Gary Allen Edenfield of Goldsboro. This investigation is ongoing.

Previous

One person was killed while riding a bike on Beech Street.

According to Goldsboro Police Department, they responded to the 1200 block of E. Beech Street in reference to a motor vehicle accident where a pedestrian, who was riding a bicycle, was struck by a vehicle.

The pedestrian succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced deceased by medical personnel. The motor vehicle that struck the pedestrian was located along with the driver.

No further information was released and the investigation is ongoing.
