James “Jimmy” Frazier Farmer

August 3, 2022, 86, Goldsboro –

James “Jimmy” Frazier Farmer, 86, passed away in the morning hours of Wednesday, August 3, 2022 at Always Compassionate Family Care in Fremont. Born in Wayne County on June 19, 1936, he was the son of the late James Hooks and Dorothy Edgerton Farmer.

In addition to his parents, Jimmy was preceded in death by an infant son, Timothy Farmer; brother Kenneth Farmer, infant brother Joseph Clement Farmer and infant sister Dorothy Jane Farmer.

Jimmy is survived by his children and their spouses, Jim and Annette Farmer of Roswell, GA, David and Kim Farmer of Goldsboro NC, Steve and Peggy Farmer of Pioneer, TN, Tracy and Jim Payne of Midland, MI, and Francine and Matthew Long of Goldsboro, NC; grandchildren and spouses, Bryan and Rachel Farmer, Zachary Farmer, Sam Farmer, Brett and Melissa Farmer, Drew and Casey Farmer, Stephen Farmer, Chrystal and Al Mier, Bethany and Nathan Gregory, James and Mary Payne, Timothy and Melinda Payne, Jacob Long, Mary and Kolby Neal, and Ivey Long; seventeen great-grandchildren, with two more great-grandchildren on the way. Jimmy is also survived by his siblings and their spouses, Tom and Shirley Farmer, Frances and Gareth Keene, and Donnie and Sheila Farmer, sister-in-law, Anne Farmer and numerous nieces and nephews.

A rosary service will be held at 6:30 p.m. on Sunday, August 7, 2022 at Seymour Funeral Home. Visitation will follow the rosary service from 7:00 – 9:00 p.m. at the funeral home. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 9:00 a.m. on Monday, August 8, 2022 at Old St. Mary’s Catholic Church at 215 E. Mulberry Street, Goldsboro with Father John Bourbeau officiating. Interment will follow at the Salem Cemetery. The family will also be receiving friends at the home of David and Kim Farmer.

The family would like to express their heartfelt gratitude to the staff of Always Compassionate Family Care in Fremont for their loving care in the past few months. Simple words cannot express our appreciation.
