Jerry Clifton Hughes, 60, passed away on Wednesday, July 20, 2022. Jerry was born in Wayne County to the late Gerald Hughes and Audrey Maxine Seymour on January 28, 1962.

One of Jerry’s greatest passions was working in nature’s beauty with his livestock and tending his garden. Raising chickens and pigs, Jerry knew how to handle livestock. His garden was full of both vegetables and flowers, for his green thumb allowed everything he grew to flourish.

Restoring the old into something new, fixing the broken, and mending the worn, Jerry was skilled at restoration. This restoration went beyond things, however, as he was able to contribute the same skill to the lives of many through his willingness to help anyone in need.

A service to remember Jerry’s life will be held by the graveside at Pineview Cemetery on Saturday, July 23, 2022 at 10:00 a.m. with Pastor Ashley Summerlin officiating.

Jerry is survived by his brother Robert Alan Hughes and wife, Ronda; sisters, Donna Pollard and husband, David, and Lori Smith and husband, Jeff; 2 nieces; 2 nephews; and girlfriend Cheryl Rouse.
