Wednesday afternoon firefighters from Arrington Fire Department along with EMS paramedic supervisor and an EMS truck responded to a single vehicle accident on Emmaus Church Road in front of Brogden Chapel Church.
The vehicle, driven by a female, was heading north on Emmaus Church Road when she ran off the left side of the road and struck a no parking sign and a chain link fence, crashing into the church marquee sign and flag pole, eventually coming to a stop in the church driveway.
Firefighters had to use their extrication tool to pop the driver side door open to remove the lady from the car. She was then taken to the hospital with non life threatening injuries.
The accident is being investigated by the North Carolina Highway Patrol.
