Delta Sigma Theta Sorority Chapter Holds Human Trafficking Symposium

January was Human Trafficking Awareness Month and the Goldsboro Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority Incorporated, Social Action Committee, hosted a well-attended, highly informative Symposium.

The event was held on Thursday, January 27, and focused on raising awareness about the diverse types of human trafficking that are happening across the nation, state, and in Wayne County.

The Social Action Committee aimed to shed light on the issue of sex trafficking and addressed common misconceptions. They also stressed that human trafficking is an issue that cannot be ignored. Hence, the organization felt an urgency to make the public aware that trafficking is happening right in our community.
