Before a recent match against Neuse Charter, the Rosewood wrestling team honored its seven seniors – Gavin Davis, Matthew Wade, Logan Tortual, Joshua Lewis, T.J. Ruffino, Tyler Parrish and Sebastian Blea.
Tortual was also given the 2021 Lee Carroll award for outstanding wrestler achievement. Tortual, who is committed to wrestle at the University of Mount Olive next fall, won a state title last season. He has a 150-27 career record and is 34-3 this season.
Wade posted a 30-5 record this season and an 82-25 overall record. Ruffino is 53-5 for his career and 12-2 this season. Parrish is 31-4 this season and 85-27 overall.
Blea has an overall record of 90=3- and is 30-6 this season, while Davis posted a 35-3 record this season and a career record of 88=31.
Neuse Charter only had four wrestlers on its roster, so Rosewood had no problems winning the match and improving its overall record to 30-1.
