January 1, 2022, 72, Pikeville –

Rhonda Gail Dawson Cox, 72, departed her earthly life and entered into paradise on Saturday, January 1, 2022. Rhonda was born in Wayne County to the late Malvern Kimber Dawson and Ruby Lee Gardner Dawson on May 9, 1949.

The family will receive friends on Wednesday, January 5, 2022 from 12 p.m. – 1:00 p.m. at Seymour Funeral Home followed by a service at 1:00 p.m. in the chapel with Rev. Barry Stallings officiating. Interment will be in Pikeville Cemetery following the service.

Rhonda is survived by her husband of 55 years, John Lacy Cox; daughter, Angela Gail Cox and fiancé, Wayne Tuer of Garner; son, John Lacy Cox, Jr. and wife Julie of Princeton, and sister, Elizabeth Joy Dawson Wallace of Rolesville, NC.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Kimber Sherrill Dawson.
