Wayne County’s Unemployment Ticks Down In August

Wayne County’s unemployment rate dropped a couple of points in August.  According to Wednesday’s figures from the N.C. Department of Commerce, Wayne County’s seasonally unadjusted jobless rate dropped to 4.7% last month.  That’s down from the 4.9% unemployment rate recorded in July.  Wayne County’s jobless rate is still much improved from this time last year. …read more »

A vehicle left the roadway and rolled early this morning at a Rosewood intersection.  One vehicle could be seen lying on its side this morning at the intersection of Highway 70 West and 581, right in front of the Walmart shopping complex.  Fire and law enforcement were on the scene of the crash.read more »
