Wayne Country Day opened the season with a dominating 64-18 victory against Freedom Christian Academy on Tuesday.
Using their full-court press defense, the Chargers got off to a great start and had a 19-2 lead at the end of the first quarter. By halftime, the Chargers’ lead grew to 34-6.
Kyrah Davis scored seven of her game-high 22 points in the third quarter and Chargers led 50-11.
Wayne Country Day outscored Freedom Christian 14-7 in the fourth quarter, and the Chargers easily earned their first victory of the season.
Kimora Cox finished with 12 points, while Jada Vanderhorst scored 14 points.
The Chargers (1-0 overall) will be back in action on Nov. 16 when they host Epiphany.
