Officials from Pikeville estimated there were around 4,000 people attending the first ever Haunts and Harvests event on Saturday night. Everyone started gathering at Dee’s Memorial Park earlier in the day for the fall festival activities. The evening event kicked off at 6 PM with a trunk or treat, movies in the park, and haunted hayride that lasted until close to midnight. The crowd started showing up early, waiting in line to take their children through the trunk or treat followed by the hayride where members of the Pikeville/Pleasant Grove Fire Department played a part in scaring the riders. A large crowd set up their lounge chairs and some sat on the ground to watch scary movies into the night.
