William Lloyd “Billy” Lovin, Jr., 74, passed away Thursday, October 21, 2021 at the Brian Center Health & Rehab in Goldsboro. Born in Franklin County on October 14, 1947, he was raised by a single mother, Betty P. Lovin.

Billy was preceded in death by his beloved mother, Betty P. Parrish, father, William Lloyd Lovin, Sr., and his baby sister, Sue Smith.

Billy is survived his longtime best friend, care taker and loving companion, Rima Harrison; daughter, Katherine Lovin Tharrington and husband, Steve; son, Justin Lovin and wife, Meredith; grandchildren, Troy Shearin and Katlyn Tharrington; great grandchildren, Josie and Myles; sister, Anne Wester of Bath; and brother, Mike Lovin of Bunn; along with many nieces and nephews.

Billy proudly served his country in the United States Army National Guard until his retirement.

Per Billy’s wishes, no formal services will be held.
