James Henry “Hank” Best, Jr., 52, passed suddenly at his residence. He was formerly of the Rosewood community.

He was an Army Veteran and worked as an aircraft mechanic and trainer for NASA. He later became a satellite contractor.

A graveside service will be held Sunday, September 19, 2021 at 3 o’clock at Evergreen Memorial Cemetery, US 70 Hwy West of Goldsboro. The Rev. Andy Stovall will officiate

The family will receive friends and family Sunday, September 19, 2021 from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM at Evergreen Funeral Home, and other times at his parent’s residence.

He is survived by his wife, Dee Dee Best; parents, Henry & Grace Best of Rosewood; sister, Lanette Best of Winterville; three step-children, Destiny Wymore of Alabama, Joshua Harris of Texas, and Elizabeth Logan of Pikeville, and nephews, David Williford and Joseph Williford.
