Late Sunday afternoon, firefighters from Mar-Mac, Dudley and Thoroghfare were dispatched to a grass and woods fire on Shirley Drive just off of Durham Lake Road. The fire was spreading across the grass and some trees that had been cut down. The blaze was also threatening several nearby structures. Luckily, the three brush trucks and several engines quickly brought the fire under control and had it completely extinguished in a matter of minutes after arriving at the scene.
