Ten candidates throw their hat into the ring to try and be Goldsboro’s next mayor.
After the application period closed at 5 PM on Friday, the City of Goldsboro announced the applicants for the open mayoral seat.
They are:
- Stefanie Love Bostic
- Elton R. Brewington
- David Leonard Craig
- Trenton Devone Haire
- Walter David Ham
- Charles Edward Henry
- Alicia Britt Pierce
- Dexter Shakiel Taylor
- Roderick Cornell White
- Kaelon M. Williams
City Clerk Laura Getz and City Manager Tim Salmon plan to look over the applications and verify each applicant meets the qualifications next week.
The Goldsboro City Council plans to interview the applicants at the August 2nd meeting.
The council may then appoint the next mayor at its meeting on August 16th.
To avoid any conflict of interest, city council members that applied for the vacant mayoral position will not be able to vote to appoint themselves.
