Robert Harold Midkiff, 79, was ushered into the presence of his Lord and Savior on Wednesday, June 30, 2021 while surrounded by his family. He was born on September 20, 1941 into the family of John Frank Midkiff and Dora Ethel Cutler Midkiff.

Proudly serving his country and fellowman in the United States Air Force, Bob retired after 21 years of service in special operations and attained the rank of Master Sergeant. Bob served on the AC 130 Gunships Spectre in Vietnam and Thailand. Following his military career, Bob continued to work for 14 years with Goldtex. Bob was a member of the American Legion and always strived to live out their motto, “For God and Country.”

With a desire to promote goodness and serve his surrounding community, Bob volunteered in numerous ways. He and his wife were well-known as Mr. and Mrs. Santa Claus. They were a welcomed sight each year as they volunteered as a medical Mr. and Mrs. Santa Claus for cancer patients at SMOC and for children with the Children’s Hospitals. For many years, they also would donate their time with Pennies For Angels.

Along with his wife, Bob worshiped his Lord at Pleasant Hill Free Will Baptist Church.

The family will receive friends on Tuesday, July 6, 2021 from 6:00 – 7:00 p.m. at Seymour Funeral Home followed by a service to celebrate Bob’s life at 7:00 p.m. in the chapel with Rev. Sherman Dilley officiating. Interment will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, July 7, 2021 in Evergreen Memorial Cemetery with full military honors.

Bob is survived by his wife of 28 years, Linda Gray Andrews Midkiff; daughters, Melanie Prado and Heather Goodman and husband Jeff; grandchildren, Lindsey Nicole Massey Prado and Davis Goodman and; brother, James Midkiff and wife Kathi; sister, Barbara Aiken and husband Jerry; and several nieces and nephews he loved very much.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sisters, Delores Bustamante and JoAnn Wilson; and brothers, John Midkiff Jr., David Midkiff and Donald Midkiff.

Flowers are welcome or memorials may be given in Bob’s memory to the charity of one’s choice.
