Late Wednesday afternoon, Mar-Mac, Thoroughfare and Arrington firefighters reposnded to a possible structure fire at the Council Laundry on U.S. 117 near the Bojangle’s in Mar-Mac. The firefighters found one of the washing machines had caught fire and was burning one of the belts underneath. No building was not damaged in the blaze. The firefighters set up a fan to clear the smoke from the building.
