The Wayne County Chamber of Commerce is holding its 12th Annual Career Fair virtually on Tuesday, April 27th from 9 AM – 1 PM.
All 8th grade students in Wayne County as well as those 9-12 grade students that are enrolled in a Career & Technical Education class will be attending the virtual event. The event is open to all public, private, home schools and public schools. Please contact Janet Brock at the Wayne County Chamber of Commerce if you would like to register students for the event.
Since it is a virtual event, the interactive portion will take place using pre-recorded videos and live text chats between the businesses and the students. Something simple, such as a problem or issue that you have addressed in your business recently can be shared. A plumber could show how to fit or cut pipes that are used in their trade; an engineer could show drawings from a past job and discuss the challenges that you faced while creating the drawings; retail merchants can feature their product and show the students how they inventory the products or how they are sold. You never know you may be the deciding factor for a student to continue his education.
