C.B. Aycock used the emotion of senior night for a 25-14, 25-14, 25-7 win over Eastern Carolina 3A/4A Conference rival Eastern Wayne on Thursday night.
The victory snapped the Golden Falcons’ seven-game skid, and seniors Abbey Thomas, Audrey Dail, Kaitlyn Smith and Mia Bolechowski won their final game in a Golden Falcons jersey.
Following a brief ceremony honoring the team’s four seniors, C.B. Aycock found itself down 3-0 early in the first set. However, the Golden Falcons quickly rallied, and they rolled to a 25-14 first-set win.
Eastern Wayne bounced back in the second set, and an ace by Macy Sauls led to an 8-7 advantage, but the Warriors were unable to hold onto the lead as C.B. Aycock used a 17-7 run to put the set away.
C.B. Aycock jumped out to a 16-4 lead in the third set and never looked back.
After a little break, C.B. Aycock and Eastern Wayne took to the court again for another match. The second game followed the same script, with C.B. Aycock winning the game 25-15, 25-18, 25-14.
