Hope for Goldsboro is providing a free Thanksgiving meal to the community.
Ja’Shawn Faire, one of the founders of Hope for Goldsboro, say the HopesGiving meal will feature all the typical holiday meal items, including turkey, stuffing, green beans and pie.
The Hopesgiving meal is open to everyone, and sit down, delivery and pickup will be available.
Faire says they are hoping to serve the homeless community and others that won’t be able to have a Thanksgiving meal with their families.
COVID-19 precautions will be in place for the sit down meals.
Faire says a recent carwash fundraiser with his Basic Law Enforcement Training at Wayne Community College helped raise over $1,000 for the free community meal.
Faire says they have plenty of food, including ten turkeys and ten hams for the meal.
The HopesGiving meal will be served this Thanksgiving Thursday, November 26, from 11 AM – 3 PM at Serenity Memorial Funeral Home, 401 N. William Street in Goldsboro.
Anyone in need of having one of the free Thanksgiving meals delivered to their home can connect with Hope for Goldsboro on the organization’s Facebook page.
