NCDOT Provides Update On Wayne County Roads

As of Wednesday morning, the NCDOT in Wayne County was reporting 15 secondary roads closed due to high water.  Following the Neuse River’s crest of nearly 25 feet (Major Flood Stage) near Goldsboro on Tuesday, the high waters are now moving toward the Seven Springs area.  N.C. 581 will likely remain closed for a few more days due to a low spot near Pecan Road.  Once the water is low enough, NCDOT will perform a field inspection for safety and open the road as soon as possible.  Motorists can visit DriveNC.gov and search under Wayne County for an incident list including which roads are currently closed.
