GPD Investigates Second Shooting In Past 24 Hours

On Tuesday around 5 PM, officers with the Goldsboro Police Department’s Uniformed Patrol “D” Shift responded to a report of shots fired on the 600 block of S. Slocumb Street. Once on-scene, officers found multiple shell casings. Shortly thereafter, they were notified of a male who had just been dropped off at Wayne UNC Health Care Emergency Department suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. Upon their arrival at the Wayne UNC Health Emergency Room, they identified the victim as 36-year-old Bennell Dawaine Garner of Goldsboro.  Garner suffered non-life threatening injuries to his leg and is expected to be released.   Goldsboro Police Investigations responded to assume control of the investigation, which continues.
