On June 2^nd, the Wayne County Sheriff’s Office took a report from the Town of Pikeville referencing a possible embezzlement by a town employee.  The investigation has led to charges of Embezzlement and Obtaining Property by False Pretense against 49-year-old Joanne L. Honn of Goldsboro.  She had allegedly converted town funds for her own personal use.  Honn was arrested on Wednesday and was given a $1,000 unsecured bond.  The sheriff’s office says this investigation is ongoing.
