Hwy 55 To Make National Hamburger Day Donation

This Thursday, May 28 on National Hamburger Day, Hwy 55 will donate $1 for every Andy’s Size All-American Cheeseburger combo sold to benefit the Food Bank of Central & Eastern North Carolina.

National Hamburger Day, falling every year on May 28, sees burger restaurants across the country offer discounts and promotions to drive traffic. This year however, Hwy 55 has decided to give back to their communities still reeling from the COVID-19 pandemic.

Hwy 55 president and founder Kenney Moore said, “We see the tremendous need for assistance during this difficult time and we just want to make an impact. Food is unfortunately becoming a scarcity for a lot of people and families, and we are so excited to partner with the Food Bank of CENC. They have a wonderful track record and the majority of our 125+ locations fall within the area they serve.”

The Food Bank of CENC has served 34 counties in NC for forty years and provided nearly 69 million meals to individuals and families last year alone. In addition to the normal operations the Food Bank provides, over 40 thousand family-sized boxes, each containing 20 meals, have been provided during the unique challenges that COVID-19 has caused.
