Jane Campbell Kincaid

May 20, 90,

Jane Campbell Kincaid passed away peacefully on Wednesday, May 20, 2020. She is now at home in Eternal Heaven with the many loved ones who have passed away before her. She was born on May 1, 1930 in Keslers Cross Lanes, WV to the late Hugh and Maude Campbell. She later moved to Ansted, WV at which time she met her high school sweetheart, James Davis “Blackie” Kincaid. They were married for 62 years. She was preceded in death by her loving husband Blackie Kincaid, their son, Jimmy Kincaid and four sisters and four brothers. She leaves behind to cherish her memories, her son Jeff and daughter-in-law Tammy and grandchildren Ashley (Jon), Jeffery (Lani), Allison and Kaitlyn; and daughter Debbie and son-in-law David and grandsons Matthew (Clair) and Paul; and daughter-in-law Elayne and granddaughters Katy, Sohmer (Majd) and Jerrica; and one brother Frank Campbell. Her life was also richly blessed with eight great-grandchildren. She was happiest when she was surrounded by her family.

Janie graduated from the School of Nursing Kanawha Valley Hospital in Charleston, WV. She was a dedicated nurse for over 40 years and retired as Nursing Supervisor at Cherry Hospital.

She was an active member of Madison Avenue Baptist Church for 55 years and a member of the Grace Fidelis Sunday School Class. She was also a member of Goldsboro Women’s Club, Salvation Army Ladies Auxiliary, and Daughters of American Revolution, David Williams Chapter.

Janie’s greatest joy came from spending time with her family and friends. She was blessed with many grandchildren and stayed busy supporting and encouraging their endeavors. She will live on forever through them. She was nurturing and caring to all of those who had the pleasure of being with her. In true southern fashion, Janie loved gardening and was very proud of her yard full of azaleas, camellias, and gardenias. She and her beloved husband worked tirelessly to create lovely beds that were admired by family and friends. She loved to share her plants with family after nurturing them from the smallest sprig.

A service celebrating Janie’s life will be held on Saturday, May 23, 2020 at 1:00 p.m. in the sanctuary of Madison Avenue Baptist Church with Pastor Adam Street officiating. The family will greet friends following the service on the front lawn of the church. A private entombment will be held at Wayne Memorial Park.

The family wishes to acknowledge the loving and kind care that was provided to Janie for the past three years. We will forever be grateful for their commitment to our mother.

Those wishing to make a memorial contribution are asked to consider Madison Avenue Baptist Church, 300 South Madison Avenue, Goldsboro, NC 27530 or Kitty Askins Hospice Center, 107 Handley Park Court, Goldsboro, NC 27534.
