David Gene Parks, Sr., 81, passed away on Wednesday, May 6, 2020 at Wayne UNC Healthcare.

David was born in Wayne County on November 11, 1938 to the late Giles W. and Johnnie Newsome Parks. For many years he worked as a foreman with Burrus Construction Company. David and Judy loved their son and they devoted their life to his care until his death in 2005.

A graveside service for family and close friends will be held on Tuesday, May 12, 2020 at Wayne Memorial Park.

David is survived by his wife, Judy Lancaster Parks; sister, Barbara P. Jones of LaGrange; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, David Gene Parks, Jr.; brothers, John Joseph Parks and Linwood M. Parks; and sister, Mildred P. Stallings.
