Joel Marc Rose, 56, passed away suddenly on Friday, May 1, 2020 at his home.

Marc was born in Wayne County on July 10, 1963 to Betty Tyner Rose of Goldsboro and the late J.L. Rose. He was employed with Helena Agri Enterprises in Fremont. Marc had served as a firefighter with the Grantham Volunteer Fire Department.

Marc had a wonderful sense of humor and never took himself too seriously. He was a good friend and had a generous heart. Marc would always give all he could to his family and friends. He was a member of Selah Christian Church where he was always a great help with the church dinners and where he would share his cooking talents.

A graveside service for family and close friends will be held on Tuesday, May 5, 2020 in the Rose Family Cemetery, near the family home.

In addition to his mother, Marc is survived by his children, Ivey Penrose, Taylor Rose, Zachary Rose and Nicholas Rose; brothers, Jeff Rose and wife Shirlene, Bob Rose and wife Cathy, all of Grantham; nephews, Joel Rose and wife Nicole and Bruce Rose; niece, Hope Rose; great nephew, Jeter Rose and great-niece, Emery Rose.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials be given in Marc’s memory to Selah Christian Church, 1332 Selah Church Rd, Four Oaks, NC 27524.
