Wayne UNC Health Care will host a Community Blood Drive in partnership with the County of Wayne and The Blood Connection Friday April 10 at the Farm Credit Farmers Market at the Maxwell Center. The Maxwell Center is located at 3114 Wayne Memorial Drive in Goldsboro.
The community is encouraged to participate in the drive while practicing social distancing by remaining in their vehicles until it is their time to donate. Please review and follow these guidelines for blood donors:
- Potential donors who are on certain types of medications like antibiotics or blood thinners will not be able to give blood.
- Staff will check for fever and ask screening questions to ensure positive overall health.
- Donors must be 17 or older; 16 year olds can donate with parental consent.
- Donors are asked not to bring minors to the blood drive site. They will not be able to stay in the car during blood donation.
Donors can save time and ensure social distancing and limited interaction by making an appointment online. Appointments are available from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m.
