County Sets Up COVID-19 Information Phone Line

Wayne County is offering a coronavirus information phone line during the ongoing pandemic.

County Manager Craig Honeycutt talked about the new information line during an interview with Jeff Farrow on Goldsboro’s Greatest Hits 1150 and 98.3.

Honeycutt says the phone number can provide local info on food assistance, the “Stay-At-Home” executive order, and more.

The phone number will be 919-705-1800 and that information line opens today at 8 AM.

This hotline will be available Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. and on weekends from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Operators will be able to answer general questions about COVID-19, the stay-at-home order, and the response in Wayne County.

Individuals who have significant concerns about violations of Executive Orders should call this number and an operator can take a complaint to forward to law enforcement.

Reporting a business is not a life-threatening emergency, and 911 should not be called. Please remember to call 911 only if you are experiencing an emergency.

Wayne County has also set up a coronavirus information page on its website, waynegov.com/coronavirus.
