As families across Wayne County gather to celebrate Thanksgiving, Chamber of Commerce President Todd Walker is pausing to reflect on the blessings, people, and purpose that shape his life and his work.
In a heartfelt message to the community, Walker shared that his gratitude begins with faith and family — the love of his Savior, the support of his wife, and the pride he feels in his children. But this season, he says, he is especially thankful for the team that powers the Wayne County Chamber of Commerce.
“I am thankful for so many things in my life. The love of my Savior, and of my wife, continue to give me strength, peace, hope, joy, and encouragement. My children continue to impress me and make me proud. And here at the Chamber, I am blessed to say I work for a staff that truly epitomizes “Service Before Self.” As I write this article, I want to focus solely on the thankfulness I have for your Chamber staff. Over the last few months, I have witness each of them work countless hours ensuring our events, meetings, ribbon cuttings, phone calls, business engagements, and programs have been executed in a manner to make our members, elected officials, and community proud. It’s been a joy to watch. They roll from one event, to the next all the while ensuring we are all on the same page and focused on the prize. And what prize may that be? To ensure we are actively engaged with our business community. To ensure we are lifting the voice of every business in Wayne County and equipping them to be the best version of themselves. A truly wonderful prize and one in which your Chamber staff focuses on every single day.
To the Chamber staff, Linda, Janet, Stacey, Kaycee, Kelsey and Alondra – Thank you for loving Wayne County and giving your absolute best all for the sole purpose of improving the quality of life for our community.
