Just before 4 AM Saturday morning, officers with the Goldsboro Police Department were dispatched to 100 block of Piedmont Airline Road for an assault-in-progress. When officers arrived, they made contact with a female parked on the side of the road who reported that a male subject had sexually assaulted her at gunpoint. Officers located a subject matching the male’s description a short distance from the victim’s vehicle and took him into custody. The suspect was identified as 28-year-old Darion S. Marks of Goldsboro. Marks was transported to the Goldsboro Police Station. The GPD’s Criminal Investigations Division was contacted and responded. As a result of the investigation, Marks was charged with one count of 1st Degree Forcible Rape and one count of 1st Degree Kidnapping. Marks was placed in the Wayne County Jail under a $400,000 secured bond.
