October 7, 2026, 83, Seven Springs – Linda Fay Stroud Lupton, long time Seven Springs area resident, passed away quietly in the early morning hours, Wednesday, October 7, 2026, while being cared for at Kitty Askins Hospice Center in Goldsboro. She was 83.
In her earlier years, Linda had been employed at Young Squire Industries in Mount Olive. Due to duties needed at home to care for her handicapped daughter, Linda became her full-time caregiver.
Linda leaves behind two sisters and brothers-in-law, Geneva S. and Donald Green of Seven Springs, and Audrey S. and Frank Price of Greensboro; a brother, Dwight Stroud of Kenansville; a sister-in-law, Ann P. Stroud Thompson and husband, Roy, of Seven Springs; along with several nieces and nephews.
In death, she has been reunited with her daughter, Karen Jo Barwick; her husband, John Lupton; her parents, Darlee and Katie B. Stroud; and two brothers and a sister-in-law, Roger Stroud, and Kenneth and Hilda Stroud.
The last several years found Linda unable to live independently, so she lived in several assisted living centers, the last being Eagles Pointe in Goldsboro.
Linda’s life will be honored funeral service at 2 pm at Tyndall Funeral Home Chapel. Officiating will be the Rev. Marty Greer. Visitation will follow the service. Burial in Pineview Cemetery at a later date, due to impending bad weather conditions.
