MOUNT OLIVE, N.C. — Motorists in Mount Olive should prepare for a temporary road closure along a portion of South Center Street due to utility work.
The Town of Mount Olive announced that South Center Street from Jurney Street to Tillman Street closed beginning immediately Friday, Sept. 18 while contractors complete utility work in the area.
According to the town, contractors expect the roadway to reopen Wednesday, Sept. 23.
Drivers should avoid the affected section of South Center Street and use alternate routes while the closure remains in place.
Despite the closure, access will remain available for fire and EMS vehicles throughout the project.
The town did not provide additional details about the specific utility work being performed or whether the anticipated reopening date could be affected by weather or other conditions.
